Be Kind

“When it comes to trials it's not the beginning or even the end, but it's the journey and how we go through it.”

Recently, I heard a national Christian radio station host say that when someone gets their feelings hurt they are most likely focusing on themselves and feeling sorry for themselves. My response to this was, Boy, this sounds like a very religious statement. Everyone has a bad day once in a while.

Is everyone that is working through a hurt really focusing on self? Bad things do happen to good people and we get our feelings hurt sometimes. It's ok to feel sad and work through our sorrow and cry out to God.  I’m sure even Billy Graham had a bad day once in a while; even the apostles went through things. Yes, they worked through them and ultimately their joy returned.  But sometimes wounds are so deep and it takes more time to work through it.

Grieving acknowledges sadness and tears. It can even welcome anger, especially if the death of loved one was due to trauma or injustice. All of these emotions are ok and as long as we work through the hurt and forgive, our joy is sure to return.

To become whole it's good that we recognize this and not stuff our hurts. We must work through them, forgive and move on; that is the only way true joy becomes a way of life.  Happy is circumstantial but joy comes from within and is a choice just as it is a way of life.  Look around your life and the world and you will see hurting people everywhere. Please take time to smile and say a kind word to someone who is hurting, you never know the effect it may have.  Just please don't judge them.

When I was going through my divorce I was so sad and the things I remembered the most were the people that were kind to me. Simple things like a smile or a kind word went a long way. Make it your duty to be kind to someone today....

Galatians 2:15-16

15.We being Jews by nature, and not sinners of the Gentiles,

16. Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law but by faith of

Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law by the works of shall no flesh be justified.
